Kitti and Barry. 2 nervous, complete beginners. Look at their work! And they had fun too. I was impressed and so were they. Everyone can draw! Come join me for a weekend or during the weekly art classes for locals. Art every morning and then you are free to explore the area. We can organise bikes or motor bikes for you.
Meet Stan and Evelyn from Hong Kong.
"Oh no I cannot paint",said Stan.....oh yes he could..... and draw.
Beginners are very welcome for a weekend of painting and drawing. Do something completely different ....you might enjoy it.
Congratulations to all of the Rayong Marathon runners today. We had 11 of the participants staying with us. Some brought back medals, but everyone was a winner, especially in the studio. A huge amount of superb artwork was created by all ages. (from 18 months up). Look forward to seeing you all soon.
Out plein air painting this morning with June and Kasiya. Great work from both of them. Plein air painting is not easy.
Dads and Lads at the retreat! There is lots to do here whether or not you are interested in Art.
We can arrange for example mountain bike riding, waterfall trip, fishing, day out on speed boat to visit deserted islands, snorkeling, and just hanging about together. Email us for more details.
Its 'Blooming' December again. Christmas looms.
If you know someone who would enjoy a weekend retreat with art lessons we can arrange the perfect gift.
Was so busy this weekend with budding artists the class spilled out from the studio into the kitchen . I didn't know if the food was being eaten or drawn. Lunch was a mixed media escapade. Food and watercolour. !! I know some of you left inspired. That's what makes an art instructors day!! Keep it up and send me your work by email. A great weekend with great people. Elsie x
Great weekend. Lots of activity and hilarity. Some visited waterfalls nearby and hurled themselves into rock pools, some hurled themselves into another gin and tonic. There was painting, drawing, cooking, ball games and I have no idea what the rest did. I must thank Nila for being our chef one evening and demonstrating the art of Indian cooking.
The gardens are growing and becoming more lush every day. We have lots of native residents. This one was almost splatted by a sledge hammer. Thank goodness michael noticed him. Isnt he cute!
A walk round the gardens is always rewarding and peaceful!
Can you imagine the delight when a child was shown this! Bring your children down. We are very child friendly!
The sky tonight was of biblical magnificence. This is the sort of sky you see on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, come paint it with me. Special midweek discounts for artists.
I was inspired by purple yesterday, kept on taking photos of it. Apparently purple is associated with wisdom, independence, dignity, creativity, mystery and magic. Come revisit some mystery....the mystery of peace and silence. (We still have rooms available for the long weekend.)
A wonderful way to share the life of a youngster...........do some art with them. Age has no boundaries in the art world! Bring your children or grandchildren........or come on your own. Just spent a lovely couple of days in the studio with Bea and her grandchildren.
At the beach in the mornings.
Plenty of room to paint, breath, grow, contemplate, or just generally run about like a mad thing! Mad things more than welcome at Elsie Evans Art Retreat!
All the hard work put into the garden by Michael has been fruitful, literally. Nothing like picking fresh herbs, fruit, vegetables and spices to really make a dish sing.
Watch out for our upcoming cooking classes. To get ahead of the curve and book now please get in contact via our contact page or facebook.
Our passionfruit vine is flowering. Coming from the North of Scotland I had no idea how incredible these flowers were! If you like drawing or painting flowers then this has to be like shangri la. We also have umpteen other flowering plants in our extensive gardens. A peaceful past time if ever there was one.!
We were delighted to host 5 families with children last weekend. The pool was busy, sofas were plumped and sat on, the kitchen was a buzz, the gardens trampled, food was cooked and eaten in vast quantities........... in all a perfect weekend!!
The crowning glory for me as an artist - the children all had art lessons AND they came into the studio to finish their work in their pajamas on Sunday morning. GREAT WEEKEND! Thanks to all the participants. Hope to see you again soon.
The first lemon from our lemon tree and its seedless!
Perfect for a gin and tonic poolside on a lovely balmy Rayong evening.
First drink is on me.
